I began plans for The Boudoir in 2004 much to the surprise of many who knew me and opened the on-line shop in 2005. Challenging, rewarding, frustrating and amusing but I have yet to encounter a project that inspires such motivation and enjoyment. So much has changed since first tentatively mouthing the words 'clitoris' and 'Dildo' to the 50+ silver haired gent who headed our initial website (I recall the toe curling embarrassment) and the person today who can comfortably chat to anyone willing to hear about the day to day intricacies of running a sex toy business. As expected there have been highs and lows aplenty and if in the words of Baz Luhrman 'Advice is a form of nostalgia' my suggestion would be to only embark on such a project if persistence and patience are qualities you possess. Allowing ourselves an element of retrospection we want to take forward in 2011 all those parts of our work that we have enjoyed the most and our customers have found most useful. Our advice will expand to a greater range of specialist topics and video instruction (yes we have been brushing up on our presenting skills) with more factual reviews of popular products. Don't expect lots of corporate style footage, we have been filming female focus groups that involve brilliant yet intimate reviews I'm sure you will love. Our team has grown with like minded ladies and I am continually impressed by the creativity of the intelligent and tenacious women I am lucky enough to work with. On a personal note and ever longing for a challenge I am enrolling on a post graduate Psychosexual Therapy qualification, but hey sleeps for wimps!
We have sourced many new brands for the year and are incorporating body and beauty lines that complement our sex toys and accessories perfectly. Our Boudoir lingerie is expanding and notably we are incorporating much of the Baci Range during the first two months of the year, check out the lines they are gorgeous!
I love Erotic literature and have personally tasked myself with hunting out the best in stimulating fiction so watch out for a much expanded selection and due to popular demand a greater choice of instructional DVDs.
Keep an eye on Funfactory as we are incorporating their full and revised range including the click and charge sex toys. We are increasing products in all genres but will continue to pick a range which offers a choice for those looking for quality with value and those wanting unadulterated designer luxury.
There are so many plans in the pipeline, some more ambitious than others but the constant for us is the enjoyment we derive from knowing the small and significant improvements we help many to make to their sex lives. We wish you all health and happiness for 2011 and look forward to an exciting year to come.
